The Sheffield based band Rolo Tomassi is a Mathcore, post-hardcore band known for their strong DIY ethic, and chaotic style and performances.
The British band, now close to their fifth debut album ‘Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It’ on March 2nd, was a blast, full of energy and seeing Rolo Tomassi live really paints a picture of the band’s musical capabilities. Nathan Fairweather’s bass-work and Chris Clayford’s guitar are feeding off of each other, while exchanging leading-roles. Tom Pitts‘ drumming confidently leads the band through their complex and constantly changing time signatures. James Spence every now and then steps up to deliver his mostly screamed vocals, alternating is with the melodic and atmospheric groundwork with his keyboard and synthesizers. Eva Spence also complements the music’s quieter parts with her beautiful clean singing. Stunning musical atmosphere that feels like a complex puzzle and the crowd is losing their mind over it.
